why?
At roughly 350:1 carbon to nitrogen, cardboard is one of the most carbon-dense materials a home pile ever sees, which makes it the perfect counterweight to wet food scraps. The corrugated air channels also fluff the pile. Whole flattened boxes, though, mat into wet lasagna layers that block airflow.
